I'm an advertising art director, a designer. Six months ago my daughter and I moved to New York so she could attend the FAME! high school. I thought I would resume my career, since NY is the advertising capital of the world—only to find that there is no work. Agencies budgets and staff are being slashed, there is no work to be found. It's very frightening. I want to talk about my days searching for a job, and living in the Big Apple.
Didn't your want to go to nursing school? I thought you said that last year on Facebook. It could be an option to go to school on some kind of financial aid become a nurse and then at least you'll have a job that is always needed. Hum...What about becoming a dialysis tech or respiratory tech. But sometimes people can be so crusty. Could you work at Whole Foods or Starbucks?
ReplyDeleteI taught preschool for head start for a year and was amazed at how much I liked it.
Well, I bet it's nice to live in the city. It seems so alive.
I'm still considering nursing school. I can't figure out how to get money for tuition and still be able to pay rent, but food and other living expenses. I already have Alexis in college, and it's very expensive. Nursing is not my passion, design is, so it's a tough trade-off.
ReplyDeleteI've applied at some Starbucks, but had not thought about Whole Foods. I'll go there today!
